Wu Ming of Hunan Province entered the restaurant on January 10, ate all nine dishes she ordered and fell asleep at the table.

When she awoke six hours later, just before the restaurant was to close for the day, she was presented a bill for 278 yuan ($36) and had only 1 jiao (1.3 cents) in her pocket.

One of the arriving police officers said he knew her and she had played the same trick in another Western-style restaurant in the city.
