A judge in Cixi, Zhejiang, denied a man's request for 5,000 yuan ($640) in compensation from his ex-wife after she had cut all their marriage photos in half after the divorce.

The man, surnamed Wang, divorced his wife, surnamed Li, last October. Days later, he visited her to take back his belongings and was hurt after he found she had cut all their marriage photos in half. Wang sued Li, claiming his dignity was offended by her action.

The court said that Li had the freedom to do as she pleased with the photos, and her action didn't infringe Wang's personal rights.
