A 91-year-old former professor who has been publicly seeking a spouse through the local media has attracted more than 10 candidates in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, in three days.

The professor said he would meet all the candidates, aged 45 to 75, before deciding whom he would marry.

In his "lonely hearts" advertisement, the professor at Wuhan University said he just wanted to seek a wife with whom he can spend his remaining years.

He asks the candidates to know a foreign language.
