An elderly man in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, risked his life last Sunday by crawling onto a tree branch 7 meters above the ground to rescue his cat.

The man, surnamed Wang, has a special passion for cats and has raised 10 at home over the years. He was so worried about the stranded kitty that he used a ladder to climb the tree, planning to chop down the branch on which the cat was stranded.

After a half-hour, Wang was exhausted and sat down for a rest. Neighbors, worried about Wang, called police for help. Both Wang and the cat were rescued safely.
