A man in Haikou, capital of Hainan Province, had to immediately be sent to hospital for a skin graft after he put his left hand into a boiling hotpot.

Doctors had to operate on the drunken man, surnamed Li, because more than one-third of the skin on Li's left hand had been seriously burnt. The incident took place last week when Li, 25, ordered a chafing dish in a restaurant in the city's Qiongshan District.

Li continued to drink by himself after his friends had left and put his left hand into the boiling hotpot.
