An 8-year-old male monkey has recently become king of the monkey mountain in Changsha Zoo, Hunan Province. It is now served by many other monkey subjects after assuming its simian throne.

It defeated the monkey queen that used to rule the monkey hill, home to more than 40 monkeys. The queen is said to have ruled the hill for more than a decade. The male monkey was found to have started fighting with the queen for the throne three years ago, according to animal keepers.
