No place like home to find river-jumping car(China Daily)Updated: 2007-02-09 09:42 A stunt man from Anhui Province is planning to cross the Yellow River next year in a car manufactured in his hometown. The man, surnamed An, migrated to Shenzhen in the 1990s as a private driver. In 1997 he saw a TV report that stunt jumper Kor Shou Liang flew over the Yellow River in a car and had the idea of mastering the skill. In 2003, An met a stunt man in Hong Kong and learned the skill from him. He worked hard, winning some reputation in the industry by 2005. Confident about his skills, An planned to challenge the record set by Kor by jumping a longer distance with a home-made car. An now is talking with automobile manufacturers in Anhui about the cars he will use in the feat, in a wish to let more people know about his hometown. (Anhui Business News) |
