Dong Shiwa, 67, a farmer living in Northwest Shaanxi Province, saved his wife from an attack by a wild boar.

Last Saturday, Dong and his wife, Zhao Qunzhi, both farmers of Zhongping Village in the province's Luonan County, were returning home from their farmland when Zhao was struck by a 180-kilogram wild boar and seriously injured on her left shoulder. Seeing his wife was injured, Dong immediately knocked the boar on its head with a stick. The wild boar turned to fight with the elderly man, who finally killed the boar with an ax he had with him, saving his wife and himself.
