From February 1, people in Lanzhou, capital of Northwest China's Gansu Province, have been able to schedule bus by telephone.

A local bus company provides a service named telephone-call booking, whereby a group of some 10 people can call for a bus for a short-distance trip, such as going around in the urban area, and a group of 15 or more can call for a long-distance trip.

"After receiving the phone call for a bus, we will provide our service with the time and location the people required, and the fee is at a discount," said the company.

Local people welcome the new service, which has run properly in the past few days.
