A middle-aged woman from Dalian, Liaoning, spent her entire life savings dining at a local restaurant in a bid to woo the manager, the New Business News reported.

The woman, surnamed Hu, met the manager two months ago while eating at his restaurant. She apparently fell immediately and madly in love with him.

In an attempt to catch his eye, she spent about 10,000 yuan ($1,233), her entire life savings, on dinners at the restaurant over the ensuing weeks. Her scheme hit a temporary snag last week, when her money finally ran out. However, not to be outdone by circumstances, she took out a loan on the value of her house and returned to the restaurant for more food. The manager refused her and asked the police to intervene.
