A 2-year-old boy from Hebei Province developed a habit of eating cinders and contracted verminosis an infestation of parasitic worms in his liver.

The boy was addicted to cinders and eggshells since he was only 10 months old.

Since then, he suffered from incurable respiratory infections. As a result, his parents spent so much money on treatment for him that they were plunged into poverty and unable to pay for more.

To help him, the Children's Hope & Relief Fund promised to raise funds for his family on Sunday after he was taken to a Beijing hospital for further consultation.
