Special dog park opens on April 1 in HK

Hong Kong's first dog park will be opened on April 1 to meet the needs of pet owners.

The park, built with HK$7 million ($897,000) on the former site of a pier, occupies 1.2 hectares by Victoria Harbor and has special facilities for dogs and their owners.

According to 2005 government statistics, 138,000 Hong Kong families have dogs but parts of only six parks are open to them.
