A retiree in Fuzhou, Fujian, was locally praised as a "warm-hearted matchmaker" after he helped more than 200 people find their ideal spouses and get married last year.

The retiree, Li Yiquan, has held matchmaking parties free of charge three times a week in parks since last March. Most participants are parents who are eager to find spouses for their children.

Usually parents write basic personal information about their children and hang the notes on trees or walls in the park, with others walking in the park, searching for candidates they think their children would be interested in.

Li's success ratio has brought more parents to his parties this year, with the number of visitors sometimes hitting more than 400.
