A woman in Hankou, Hubei, fainted from hypoglycemic shock in her locked bathroom on Thursday but was rescued by her dog.

Yao Shuqiong, 42, was using the toilet in her home when she fell to the floor, bleeding.

Ten minutes later, Yao's dog, which might have smelled the blood, broke the wooden door and used its paws to wake Yao up.

Yao was immediately sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors said she might have died if she had not received treatment in time.
