A Beijing bus driver carrying more than 40 passengers on his way to a supermarket in Daxing District hit the brake a bit suddenly. The bus stopped, and so did the driver's heart.

Passengers were thrown forward slightly, though no one was injured. They found the driver, surnamed Zhan and aged in his 50s, slumped in the driver's seat with no heartbeat and not breathing. Emergency medical technicians were called and arrived 10 minutes later, but it was too late to rescue the driver. Doctors are trying to determine the cause of his sudden death.
