Huang Ruisheng, a paraplegic, surprised residents of Huiyang District in Huizhou, Guangdong, by building his own car.

Huang, 52, who did not graduate from primary school, was disabled by rheumatoid arthritis nine years ago. But that did not stop him from starting work on his special car in 2003.

Drawing on his interest in repairing electric appliances and a strong work ethic, Huang completed the car early this month.
