Police have reprimanded a 14-year-old girl who called emergency hotlines for fire, rescue and police more than 200 times over three days, just to listen to the dial tones.

The girl, Ting Ting skipped school to stay at home in a village in Yucheng, Shandong, for the three-day ringing marathon.

The girl's mother had bought her a cellphone a few days before, and Ting Ting began to dial the numbers, only to hang up just as the operator would answer.
