A Changsha resident surnamed Chen found a special gift on her balcony in this Hunan provincial capital early Wednesday morning.

A turtledove that had built its nest on her balcony several weeks ago had laid four eggs.

Chen, who likes to share her balcony with the turtledove, immediately fed the bird rice, corn and crumbs.

Chen said she would not touch the turtledove eggs or drive the bird away.
